Field Supervisor

Ste. Anne Natural Gas is a natural gas cooperative located near Onoway, AB which is approximately 75 km NW of Edmonton. This is a permanent full-time position.


Hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday, with a scheduled rotation of weekly on-call service.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
Certified Journeyperson - Gas Utility Operator

Safety:

• Be a leader in safety and a strong advocate for SANG’s Health and Safety Program
• Conduct regular site safety inspections on staff members to ensure the safety program is being followed and ensure employees are working safely
• Ensure staff are reporting (near misses, damaged equipment reports etc)
• Follow up and have damaged equipment replaced, repaired, or retired keeping safety in mind

Staff:

• Oversee daily field operations and various other projects
• Organize and delegate work to employees each day
• Effectively manage conflict resolution when necessary
• Be available after hours (first point of contact when on-call issues arise)
• Advocate and facilitate cross-training and mentorship
• Maintain quality control through periodic inspections; Use deficiencies as training topics to help educate all staff

Construction:

• Assemble all pertinent information for providing a written construction submission to the Departments of Energy/Agriculture for construction of infills and related work
• Assist in the tender process for hiring on contractors for major capital expenditures
• Advise the Departments of Energy/Agriculture inspectors of completed construction
• To act as the Co-ops inspector on maintenance, upgrading, and construction; or appoint an appropriate person to inspect
• Assemble all pertinent data and supply a grant application to the Departments of Energy/Agriculture
• Monitor and assist with estimates for construction installations

Other:

• Monitor inventory levels with the help of the Inventory Controller
• Monitor and assist in the preparation of estimates for construction, and secondary service installations
• Have excellent communication skills when dealing with fellow staff, clients, members, and pipeline/sales representatives
• Assist Operations Manager with equipment and fleet related issues
• Execute and monitor progress of construction and special projects

Requirements

• Must have CSA approved steel toed boots
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license. (Airbrake endorsement will be considered an asset).
• Must provide a driver’s abstract upon request
• Must be within 30 minutes of Lac Ste. Anne County or willing to relocate

Qualifications

• Gas utility experience is required, CET or other designations are considered an asset
• Familiarity with Z662
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team
